The Stage Hypnotist

So, how does the stage hypnotist work? Firstly, he will spend a good amount of time prior to the show assessing his audience. He will select his 'volunteers' very carefully, knowing the type of character he is looking for, ensuring that they are likely to be good 'performers' and who want to be part of the show. They will be the extroverts among us.

Then, prior to going on stage, he will hypnotise the volunteers and suggest to them that, when they hear a trigger word or command, they will perform the required act.

The key for the stage hypnotist is that the volunteers will all want to believe that they are hypnotised and therefore expect to perform as requested.

Always remember, as a member of the audience, we see very little or none of the work that the entertainer does prior to the show.
